Marlene played a gypsy in one of my favorite anti-fascist movies made close to the WWII era: Golden Earrings (1947) (included in the set from Amazon featured here on the right).

I don’t recall any singing in that movie, nor did I find a clip from it. However, the song above still seems very relevant.
