Although I often watched Harvey on the old Carol Burnett show, I remember him best as Hedley Lamarr, the “villain” in Mel Brooks’ classic comedy Blazing Saddles:

I saw this news item but somehow didn’t mention it. Harvey Korman was one of the greats of comedy. In thinking back on many a pleasant evening watching The Carol Burnett Show, I realized that one reason I have such a hard time watching comedies today is that awful canned laugh track. CB was taped before a studio audience, and the laughter genuine—and with people like Carol, Harvey, and Tim Conway, how could there not be laughter?
